Not meant for sale

These were made by my 10 years old niece, Kimberly. Whenever I am making my jewelleries, she will come into my room and 'disturb' me. Curious about everything..from my stones..beads...wires...pliers...boxes everything...Kids are so curious with a lot of things and they can talk non stop..ask non stop. Sometimes, I got freak out by all her questions! Hahahaaa..
One day when I was making my jewelleries, she started to take out the different boxes and beads. She told me she wanted to learn how to make earrings so that she can make for her mummy. I told her to choose the beads she liked. Oh my god...she choosed all the expensive ones!! In order not to disappoint her, I allow her to use my swarovski beads...I taught her how to make the loop..explained to her the rationale behind every steps/methods. She picked up very fast. That's the wonders of kids. They picked up fast. It also happen that she is very good in art and likes handicraft works like me. She used to say her ambition was to become an ART teacher when she grew up. I wonder does that apply till today...Practice makes perfect. In order to let her master the skills, I will allow her to practise with my wires and beads whenever I make my jewelleries. I think she is so into making, she told me she wanted to make earrings as X'mas presents for her other aunties. I guessed it was a boost to her confidence. Her effort and sweet thoughts were well appreciated. The earrings in the picture were made by her last year. Now she aimed to learn how to make bracelets!! So I told her to use the cheaper beads! Hahahaaa..She just completed the bracelet, as shown above last evening. I taught her how to hook up the beads to the chain. Guess what, she lost her patience and grumbled 'in slience' as I forced her to complete it because she wanted to give up. Hooking the beads to the chain was not as easy as what she thought. However, since she wants to start, she must overcome the obstacles. I told her she must complete otherwise she can throw away the whole thing and I won't teach her again, but at the same time, I also tell her I will showcase her bracelet here if she can complete the whole thing. And that sets her to work. She wanted me to showcase her work here :p Everybody needs the right motivation & encouragement...be it adults or kids. Few weeks ago, Kim showed me a necklace made by her during her art club lesson. She was very pleased with her work becos nobody seems to know how to make the loop & hook up the ends of the necklace. But she knew how to do it and even help her friend with it. Kim Kim, I am so proud of you :)
